Educational and cultural project "Ukrainian Music for Children!"

У The educational and cultural project "Ukrainian Music for Children!" was launched at the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth.

Myroslav Skoryk's entrancing melodies filled the room as the kids paid close attention to "Melody" and attempted to make sense of what was happening in their inner world... While performing "God, Great and United!," a piece by Mykola Lysenko The audience stood up and joined the orchestra in performing "Save Ukraine for Us."

Under the direction of Herman Makarenko, People's Artist of Ukraine, conductor of the Taras Shevchenko National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater of Ukraine, and chief conductor and artistic director of the Kyiv Classic Orchestra, the chamber group of the Kyiv Classic Symphony Orchestra will present works by Ukrainian composers to a younger audience as part of the project.

The format of the meetings with the children's audience involves communication between the performers and the audience: during the concert, the director of the Kyiv Classical Symphony Orchestra, Doctor of Arts, Professor Herman Makarenko, will tell the young listeners about the history of the music.

According to Oksana Dobrovolska, Director of the YFCU, "fostering respect for the cultural heritage of one's people begins in childhood. Understanding and emotional feeling of the treasures of cultural heritage develops gradually when a person contemplates paintings, enjoys the art of words or dance, listens to music..."

Music education of children has always played an important role in the formation of personality, in the realization of belonging to a nation with its own authentic culture, which is a significant component of the world cultural heritage.

By initiating the "Ukrainian Music for Children!" project, we want to convey to the young audience that despite the terrible events that the Ukrainian people are experiencing today, there is light and a source of spiritual strength - art, the cultural heritage of our people, music that cannot be shot, but which must be known and listened to so that it lives on for centuries, connecting generations," emphasized Herman Makarenko, Doctor of Arts, Professor, Ambassador of Ukrainian Culture, the first Ukrainian musician to be awarded the title of UNESCO Artist for Peace.

Supporting the psychological well-being of Ukrainian children is particularly crucial during a full-scale conflict, since their youth is targeted by racial aggressors using bombs, drones, and missiles. A person's inner state is stabilized and their trust in success is strengthened by the harmony of sounds.
