"Kyiv-Classic" and Maestro Herman Makarenko invites you to enjoy the true masterpieces of world classical music in the sixth theatrical concert "Declaration of Love".
The basis of this year's event are eternal questions: love, woman, child, motherhood, forgiveness and hope.
You will hear a breathtaking aria Cio-Cio-San in the opera "Madame Butterfly" performed by L. Alekseyev, Neapolitan songs performed by A. Maslakov, Clara's Lullaby (well-known as "Summertime") from "Porgy and Bess" by D. Gershwin, "Gypsy Song" by A. Dvorak, "Ave Maria" by Bach/Gounod, works of C. Saint-Saens.
Tickets from 20 to 450 grivnas ($2,5-$55)

A Sixth "Strauss-Concert"
December 28-29, 2009 a Sixth Annual New Year Strauss Concert have took place at the National Opera House of Ukraine.
This year, besides the well-known pieces as Overture to the operetta “Die Fledermaus”, “Marsch march and waltz” and “On the beautiful blue Danube” the author of the project Maestro Herman Makarenko included in the program of new pieces, most of which completely unknown to Kiev listeners, for instance the Waltz “Pictures of the North Sea”, Mazurka “Emancipire” and polka “Winter satisfaction”...
The Sixth Strauss Concert was supported by the Embassy of Austria and the Embassy Hungary. Particularly the Embassy of Hungary asks to perform “Éljen a Magyar!” (“Viva Hungarians!”).
Specifically for people with disabilities some seats were dismantled. Thus the disabled in wheelchairs were able to participate in this New Year event and enjoy the masterpieces of unsurpassed Strauss family.
Concert to St. Nicholas Day
December 19, 2009 in the National Opera House of Ukraine the Institute of Hygieology and Toxicology presented a charity concert for St. Nicholas Day. On the concert was performed pieces by Bizet, Mozart, Grieg, Verdi, Khachaturian, Skorik and other world-famous composers. The event was attended by leading specialists in the field of medicine, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps and government officials.

The Sixth "Concert of Premieres". The works of Azerbaijan composers.
October 20, 2009 in the National Opera the best works of prominent Azerbaijan composers was performed by the Symphony Orchestra of National Opera.(playbill»»)
This year the event organized together with the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine and personal assistance of the Ambassador of Azerbaijan - Dr. Talyat Museib oglu Aliyev, Minister of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan - Mr. Karaev and Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

The Spirit of Greece. The Fifth «Concert of Premieres»

2009-3-25 The National Opera House hosted the fifth «Concert of Premieres». The concert was organized by the embassy of Greece and timed to the National holiday of the Greek republic – Independent Day. Herman Makarenko had an idea of this concert two years ago and now this idea was materialized beautifully.
The modern Greek composers of Philippos Tsalahouris,Alexandros Mouzas and Chamber Choir «Credo» are participated the concert. (playbill»»)

The Fifth Annual ‘Declaration of Love’ Concert
KYIV, 6th and 7th of March 2009
Ballet stars Olena Filip’eva and Sergiy Sidorskiy took part in the concert. Unbelievable tenor Igor Borko sang ariosos of Nadira from opera of Georges Bizet «The Pearl Fishers».
And of course guests enjoyed symphonic masterpieces performed by an orchestra of the National Opera House under the baton of Herman Makarenko.

Carnivalia 2009
Carnivalia Charitable Ball have took place in third times on February 14th, 2009. The columnar hall of Kiev’s city administration (Khreschatik 36) served as a space for the masked ball. In addition to traditional Ukrainian Maslyanitsa and Viennese ball the event included the carnival of mardi gras.
In spite of uneasy financial situation in Ukraine Carnivalia is supported by many leading companies. Considerable support was provided by International Renaissance Foundation.

Maestro Herman Makarenko led the Kyiv Classic Orchestra on a one-week concert tour of Serbia in the last week of March 2007 on occasion of the Days of Ukraine in that country. Concerts were given in the picturesque cities of Belgrade and Novi Sad. »»

KYIV, 10 October 2007. The Kyiv Classic Orchestra had the opportunity to come on stage of the Hall of Columns of the Kyiv Mayoral Office once again on 8 October. While the previous time the Orchestra accompanied the Carnavalia Costume Ball, this time we played for the participants in the Third National Bioethics Congress. »»

The Kyiv Classic Orchestra conducted by Herman Makarenko gave a special performance at the charitable costume ball Carnavalia, which took place at the Kyiv Mayoral Office on 17 February 2007. The Carnavalia costume ball took place on the occasion of the Feast of the Presentation of our Lord and Savior in the Temple and united traditional Ukrainian costumed celebrations and the Viennese and Venezian carnivals. The ball kicked off the new ball season in Ukraine.
